Superstitious Reverie

This project is inspired by the loss of close family members, traditional Chinese funerals, and my contemplation of Chinese superstitions. I was born in Baoding, a city in northern China deeply rooted in superstitious beliefs. Growing up there exposed me to a variety of complex funeral rituals, ancestral worship, and the deep respect and reverence my family held for traditional funeral customs. These experiences left me with a profound sense of the solemnity and mystery of Chinese traditional culture.

这个项目的灵感源自亲人的离世、传统的中国葬礼，以及我对中国民间信仰的思考。我出生于中国北方的城市保定，一个深受传统迷信影响的地方。在那里长大，使我从小便接触到繁复的丧礼仪式、祖先崇拜，以及家人对传统殡葬习俗所抱持的敬畏与虔诚。

这些经历让我深切感受到中国传统文化中所蕴含的庄严与神秘，也激发了我对生死、仪式与信仰的持续探索。
